It was a pleasure to attend the recent reopening of Grimsby Minster’s café, which had been closed during lockdown conditions.
The Mayor of North East Lincolnshire, Councillor David Hasthorpe, opened the minster’s newly refurbished café, which is the latest example of regeneration going on around Grimsby Minster. St James’ Square has recently undergone renovation work to make the area a more pleasant experience for visitors and easier to access.
Several art installations are now scattered around St James’ Square too, highlighting local, contemporary artistic work whilst also recognising Grimsby’s strong artistic background.
Having the Grimsby Minster café and its surroundings rejuvenated in this way is a fantastic opportunity to recognise our rich cultural heritage in a relaxed and friendly setting. There are plenty more plans for regeneration across the town, with Grimsby Minster's café being a great example of how we can take more pride in Grimsby.
