I recently visited Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital along with Cleethorpes MP Martin Vickers to see how construction work is continuing on the hospital’s new extensions to its accident and emergency department.
£7 million has been invested into upgrading various aspect of the hospital’ interior and exteriors, which form part of the £15 million that made up Northern Lincolnshire & Goole NHS Trust’s plans to upgrade both Grimsby’s hospital and Scunthorpe General.
I got a chance to see the new CT and MRI units being constructed, which will undoubtedly improve the quality of care that the hospital already delivers on.
Other improvements include reconfiguring its car park, a new main entrance lobby and improving the access points for ambulances, buses and more.
The overall aims of these extensions are to better the patients' experiences when staying at the hospital and it's superb to see construction work progress positively at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital.
