I recently visited Fusion Health and Well Being on Ladysmith Road to learn more about their exciting future development plans. Fusion offers health-based activities for the local community and also supports vulnerable people.
Fusion is the brainchild of former boxer Wayne Bloy, who has previously worked with challenging young people. As part of Fusion’s overall mission, the centre encourages children aged 11-15 to attend to improve their lives by having them interact with other children from different areas and backgrounds through their health activities. This is to attempt to break the cycles of poverty that younger people in Grimsby may struggle to escape from.
Wayne has been successful in the past in applying for government funding to run the centre and is hoping to expand the centre’s reach into Adult Education, which includes offering computer literacy skills for older people.
Fusion is open seven days a week and the centre’s door is always open. Wayne and his team are always keen to welcome new people in the area to attend and to see what Fusion has to offer.
