Together with Holly Mumby-Croft MP and Martin Vickers MP I met with Trans Pennine Express trains to complain about the abysmal service provided to constituents on the line from Grimsby & Cleethorpes.
I questioned them on why they are having issues with driver training and sickness, which is the reason they give for the huge amount of last minute disruption passengers are experiencing. I have escalated these issues to the Secretary of State DfT and will be having a meeting with Minister Merriman next week to discuss these issues in more detail.
I have also contacted LNER who are contracted to offer customer service for all passengers when train timetables are disrupted, because in my experience over the previous months the customer care has been extremely poor. When I have heard from them I will update constituents.
I have also asked TPE to publish a short explanatory document for them to share with train passengers so they can understand the service that TPE should be providing to passengers should there train travel be disrupted.
