I visited Robert Jenrick MP, the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, to discuss Grimsby with him. This included our aims, aspirations and what we’re doing as a town to achieve them. We also made sure that Grimsby had got its applications in for the government’s Towns Fund and High Street Funds.
We’d also recently managed to secure some accelerator funds from his department that will renew the bridge at Garth Lane. This money will allow the area to be transformed from a pedestrian bridge into a pedestrian and cycle bridge. We want more housing nearer to the town centre and we want people to have an ease of access in and out of the town centre.
It was a positive meeting to talk to him, promote the town and showcase what we’re doing to make Grimsby thrive.
