I was delighted to participate in the official opening of Coronation House alongside Jonathan Evison (PPC) on Friday 17th September 2021, a complex providing 24 disabled people with independent living, completed in March 2021. The project received funding from Charity Bank and Social Investment Bank.
Paul Silvester remarked “It's fantastic that we've managed to get this marvellous community facility open, to provide much needed housing for venerable people. The building is at full occupancy, and this demonstrates the desperate need to provide community-based housing.”.
Following the success of a similar dwelling complex in Stallingborough, Foresight created Coronation House, the first project of its kind in Grimsby. There are 24 secure apartments with communal areas for residents to socialise and a team of staff on-hand to help, giving residents the facilities to live independently.
Cororation House is currently at maximum capacity, providing homes for 24 residents, with a waiting list. Foresight has purchased 5 1-bedroom flats, located behind Coronation House, which are leased to the Through Care Team, providing accommodation to 16–18-year-olds.
