The Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak took time out of a busy schedule last week to meet with me to talk about investment in our area, particularly the Zero Carbon Humber Project. It was a very productive and encouraging meeting. Although the Government is having to focus its financial attention on minimising the economic fall-out of the Covid-19 crisis, it is good to know that vital investment plans, particularly for our area are still progressing. I will be continuing to work very hard on this one - this exciting project is good news for the environment and tackling climate change, and good news for bringing the skilled jobs and investment we need to help transform our town.
