I met the CatZero team as they were preparing to embark on an exciting trip on the CatZero yacht to London. I wished the team good luck on their adventure, along with the Mayor of North East Lincolnshire, Councillor David Hasthorpe.
The yacht sailed down to London as part of a Youths Future Foundation sail in which 11 young participants get involved win the life-changing 8-day trip to learn about the fishing industry and career opportunities available to them. This ties into CatZero’s mission with empowering people to help rebuild their lives and careers.
I met the crew again when they arrived in London to congratulate them on their success. They then spent the day in the care of the Fishmonger Association and were given a tour of Billingsgate Fish Market. I also invited Teresa Coffey, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, to mee the young people and to show her the kind of work CatZero specialises in.
It was a fantastic event for CatZero and for the young people taking part and a great example of the work CatZero does in helping to rebuild people’s lives and to aid them in getting on the career ladder.
