I am sure that the £1million grant recently given by the Government to Great Grimsby (the maximum level of grant awarded) will be well spent by the Council in improving the town centre - particularly Riverhead Square and the River Freshney. I know that some critics will say that spending money on the town centre is like putting lipstick on a pig but I don't agree with that. It may change, but we have to fight to keep it viable and make it an attractive place to visit.
The money can only be spent on assisting town centres to recover from the affects of the coronavirus pandemic.
